BMW has launched the special XM Label with a price tag of Rs 3.15 crore. This is the most powerful M badge-badged BMW car. There will be only 500 such models across the globe, of which only 1 will hit the Indian shores. It gets a 55 lakh premium over the standard XM.
Design of BMW XM Label
There are limited changes in the XM Label, but they are not subtle in any way! The hue of the XM Label is black, which is contrasted by red bits all across the exterior, which sets it apart from the standard XM. These surround the grille, the window lines, and the shoulder line. Red is also present on the highlights of the 22-inch M-specific alloy wheels and brake callipers. The rear, too, gets red on the XM badge and the diffuser.
Interior of BMW XM Label
The black and red theme is continued on the inside. The dashboard is all-black with red inserts on the AC vents and door handles. The seats also get a black and red upholstery with a red leatherette finish. It also gets an XM badge with the 1/500 moniker on the AC vents in the centre. There is also the use of carbon fibre on the centre console and the dashboard.
The SUV's features include a 14.9-inch infotainment display, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display, and a 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond surround sound system with a 1,475-watt amplifier. In terms of safety, it gets 6 airbags, Active Roll Stabilisation, Dynamic Brake Control, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability control (ESC), and dynamic stability control (DSC).
Powertrain of BMW XM Label
Under the hood of the XM Label is the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 hybrid mill as the regular XM, but it has a new tuning. It produces 738 bhp and 1,000Nm of torque in the XM Label. This is 94 bhp and 200 Nm, more than the standard model. This is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission that delivers power to all four wheels via the M xDrive AWD. The electric range in the XM Label is reduced to 76 to 82 km, which is lower than the standard despite having the same 25.7 kWh battery.
The SUV only takes 3.8 seconds to reach 100 kmph from a dead stop. It can go to an electronically limited maximum speed of 250 kmph. Users can increase it to 290 kmph with the optional M Driver's Package.
