BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition Launched at Rs 46.90 Lakh!

BMW has launched the BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition, which is a limited edition variant manufactured at their Chennai plant. It will be an exclusive BMW online shop model with a price of Rs 46.90 Lakhs. Here is all you need to know about this special edition.

The model gets a confident and sleek look on the outside. With elements like a blacked-out kidney grille, a stretched silhouette, and frameless doors, the BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition gives projects a sporty appeal. It takes it further with adaptive LED headlights with M Shadow Line specifications and an all-black rear spoiler. The wheels have BMW Floating hub caps that ensure that the BMW logo always stays upright. (It reminds you of a Rolls-Royce, doesn't it?)

Inside the cabin, sports seats will keep you tight in position while also taking care of your comfort with the memory function. This variant has a unique interior trim called 'Illuminated Berlin'. The gear selector also gets a carbon touch to match the sportiness of the seats. You can configure the ambient lights in the 220i M Sport Shadow Edition to set the mood.

The rear seats get a 40/20/40 split, handy when increasing the boot storage. It's unlikely to happen, though, as the car already offers a generous 430 litres of boot space. 

BMW has given its BMW Live Cockpit Professional to this model, that comes with 3D Navigation, a 12.3-inch driver's instrument display, and a 10.25-inch infotainment panel. If you aren't in the mood for clicking on screens, you can also use the BMW Virtual Assistant and some predefined hand gestures. You also get wireless Apple Carplay, a Parking assistant, a rear view camera, and a Reversing Assistant.

The 220i M Sport Shadow Edition's safety suite includes various additions, such as six airbags, Attentiveness Assistance, an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Brake Assist, ARB technology, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), and an electric parking brake with auto hold.

Under the hood is a two-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces a power output of 190 hp and 280 Nm of torque. This engine can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.1 seconds. This engine is mated to an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. You can also take the gear shifts in your hand with paddle shifters. The performance is available in 4 driving modes- ECO PRO, Comfort and Sport.

The BMW 220i M Sport Shadow Edition will compete against the Audi A4 Premium, Skoda Superb L&K and the Toyota Camry 2.5 Hybrid.
