Audi has unveiled the facelift of the RS3 in the global markets. The new model receives updates on the design, interior and other mechanical characteristics. Both the sedan and Sportback get updates in this facelift. A major highlight of this generation is its better cornering ability.
Updated Exterior of Audi RS3 Facelift
The design of the facelift remains similar to the previous version. It features an updated grille with sleek matrix LED headlights on either side. These headlamps have daytime running light patterns that can be changed. The diamond pattern present on the grille can also be found in the new air intakes with vertical black blades. The car has 3 openings above the front splitter that gives the car a more confident stance. At the rear, there are two vertical reflectors along with the tail lights. The wheels are 19-inch alloys that get a matte black finish.
New Interior of Audi RS3 Facelift
The biggest changes to the cabin are the optional carbon buckets on the front. You can also opt for regular sports seats wrapped in Nappa leather. The steering wheel is the next big change, flattened on both the top and bottom. Audi has changed the shifter of the RS3, giving it a flatter design.
Powertrain of the Audi RS3 Facelift
Under the hood, there is no change in the RS3. It is still powered by a 2.5-litre, 5-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 394 bhp and 500 Nm of maximum torque. This engine is coupled with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic that delivers power to the wheels through a Quattro all-wheel drive system. When it comes to acceleration, the car can achieve a 100 kmph speed starting from a dead stop in 3.8 seconds. The maximum speed it can attain is 290 kmph. These figures are exactly the same as the ones found in the previous generation.
Mechanical Changes to Audi RS3 Facelift
Audi has updated the adaptive dampers, which now respond more effectively due to a refreshed algorithm. Further on, Audi has claimed that its engineers have enhanced brake torque vectoring, helping the RS3 achieve higher cornering speeds. These changes also help with the users who are into drifting, as the RS3 now gets a more playful rear end. The RS3 comes with newly designed standard tyres as well, with the option to upgrade to Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slicks.
Price of Audi RS3 Facelift
The RS3 Sportback gets a price tag of Rs 61.24 Lakh (€66,000) in Germany, while the RS3 starts at 63.10 Lakh (€68,000). We don’t expect it to enter the Indian shore like its previous generation.
