Audi has unveiled the new generation of the Q5 in the global markets. This SUV is based on a new Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) with various upgrades over its predecessor. A hybrid setup now powers the SUV. Buyers in the global markets can book this SUV at Audi showrooms by paying a booking amount.
Design of the New Audi Q5
On the outside, the Q5 has made changes that have aligned it with Audi’s latest design language. The highlight of the front fascia is the large grille with a 3D honeycomb pattern. This grille gets Matrix LED lights on either side with 8 light signatures, along with OLED DRLs. On the side are 17-inch alloy wheels that can be replaced by 21-inch ones as an option. The rear gets a new two-tone bumper along with LED taillights that are connected by a light strip.
Interior of the New Audi Q5
Taking centre stage in the interior of the A5 are the twin displays that are tucked into a housing, giving it a seamless look. One of these is a 14.5-inch infotainment display, and the other is an 11.9-inch instrument panel. You can also have a 10.9-inch screen for the passenger as an option. It also gets interactive ambient lights that have features like a welcome function and turn signal indication. Other features of the car include an ADAS suite, a heads-up display and a 685-watt B&O music system. The rear seats have neat slide and tilt features to adjust for comfort or increase boot space.
Powertrain of the New Audi Q5
There are 3 hybrid powertrains available in the Audi Q5. The first is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol powerhouse that churns out 201 bhp and 304 Nm. This gets both AWD and FWD options. The second is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder diesel unit with the same 210 bhp but 400 Nm of torque. This one gets the Quattro system as standard. The most powerful variant is the SQ5, which is powered by a 3.0-litre, turbocharged V6. This engine generates 362 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. All of the engines are supported by a 48V mild hybrid system that provides around 24 bhp and 203 Nm.
Price of Audi Q5
The updated price of the Q5 in the international markets is Rs 48.59 lakh (€52,300) for the entry-level model. The diesel one is priced at Rs 53.05 lakh (€57,100), and the SQ5 gets a price tag of Rs 77.02 lakh (€82,900). The deliveries in Germany will start this month, and then they will reach the rest of the European countries. We expect it to reach the Indian shores around next year.
