5 Reasons to Buy Mahindra 3XO Over its Competition

Mahindra launched the 3XO yesterday at 7.49 Lakh which will serve as the much-needed generational update to the XUV300, which was losing its edge over its rivals. With its arrival, the sub-compact SUV segment has now taken notice. The buyers however, are now greeted with one more worthy option. There are a lot of boxes that the 3XO ticks, making it more special than its rivals. This segment is a hotly contested one, with the presence of some established players like the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Kia Sonet.  Here’s why the 3XO could be a better choice than its rivals, on paper at least!

1) Most Affordable Base Model of Mahindra 3XO

Mahindra has priced the 3XO at a strategic starting price of 7.49 lakh ex-showroom for the base model. This is at least 50 thousand less than the competition that starts at INR 8 Lakh.

2) Most powerful engine

While the XUV300 lagged on the features front, the powertrain dominated the segment. You get three options, two for petrol, one for diesel. In petrol, you can choose between a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that produces 109 bhp and 200 Nm of peak torque and a more powerful 1.2-litre T-GDI mStallion turbo petrol unit delivering 128 hp power and 230 Nm torque. If you prefer Diesel engines, choose the 1.5-litre diesel unit that gives 115 bhp and 300 Nm of torque. If performance is your priority, the 3XO deserves a strong recommendation.

3) Panoramic Sunroof

Imagine a morning drive with family where you enjoy the relaxing rays of the sun along with a breeze. If that excites you, then the XUV 3XO might be the car for you. It is the first in its segment to offer a panoramic sunroof, which is not restricted to the top model but can also be availed of in the mid variants.

4) Safety Features

Safety is an aspect of a car that has recently gained attention of Indian buyers. With the increased importance given to NCAP ratings, cars are slowly getting safer. Mahindra has always shined in this regard. 3XO’s predecessor came with a 5-star Global NCAP rating, and we expect the same for the 3XO. Mahindra has added Level 2 ADAS to the 3XO to take safety up a notch. This is a segment-first addition with the potential to save you from fatal crashes.

5) Most Spacious

While all the cars in this segment claim to be 5-seaters, how comfortable they are for the middle passenger remains doubtful. The Mahindra 3XO stands apart in this case as it has the largest wheelbase. It offers a higher knee room and the broadest bench for second-row passengers. So if you generally travel with five passengers, then the 3XO is your best pick.
