TVS has launched the 2025 version of its modern-retro motorcycle, the TVS Ronin, with a starting price of Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom). The latest model comes with upgraded features and refreshed styling.
Engine and Performance
The TVS Ronin is powered by a 225.9 cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine paired with a 5-speed gearbox, the same as the previous iteration. The motorcycle produces 19.8 bhp at 7,750 rpm and 19.3 Nm of torque at 3,750 rpm. It also comes with Glide Through Technology (GTT), a slipper clutch and upside-down front forks.
Design and Features
You still get the same round headlight with a T-shaped DRL, asymmetric speedometer, the same fuel tank design, and a single-piece seat. However, the Ronin gets two new colour options: Glacier Silver and Charcoal Ember.
Variants and Pricing
The mid-spec variant of the Ronin now features Deal Channel ABS priced at Rs 1.59 lakh (ex-showroom), and the top-spec variant costs Rs 1.69 lakh (ex-showroom).
Competition
The TVS Ronin rivals the Royal Enfield Hunter 350, which has a starting price of Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 349cc single-cylinder air-oil-cooled engine that produces 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque. Both motorcycles cater to young riders, offering multiple colour options and a balanced power delivery.
The top variant of the Ronin is priced at Rs 1.69 lakh. If you’re looking for a different lifestyle, there are plenty of alternatives to explore, like the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, which is powered by a 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 23.8 bhp and 18.74 Nm of torque.
Conclusion
Apart from the new colours and the addition of ABS to the mid-spec variant, the motorcycle essentially remains the same. Will this be enough for the Ronin to remain competitive in 2025?
