2024 Maruti Dzire | Launched at ₹ 6.79 Lakh

The 2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire has arrived, offering a compelling blend of modern design, safety upgrades, and convenience features at an introductory price range of Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 10.14 lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). With four main variants (LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi Plus) and two powertrain options (petrol and CNG), Maruti Suzuki’s latest subcompact sedan aims to redefine value in its segment. Here’s a look at what makes the new Dzire stand out.

Exterior and Design

The 2024 Dzire has undergone a design overhaul, marking a significant departure from the Swift-inspired aesthetics of earlier models. The front fascia now sports a prominent grille with five horizontal slats and blacked-out surrounds, accompanied by sleek “Crystal Vision” LED headlamps for a stylish, modern look. The dual-tone 15-inch alloy wheels and “3D Trinity LED” tail lights add to the Dzire’s refined appeal, while its compact dimensions (3,995mm length, 1,735mm width, and 1,525mm height) make it well-suited for urban driving.

Cabin and Interior Features

The new Dzire’s cabin combines sophistication and functionality. It takes cues from the Swift’s dashboard layout but adopts a black-and-beige theme with faux wood accents for a premium feel. The 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, is joined by amenities like auto climate control, wireless phone charging, and cruise control. Additionally, this model introduces a segment-first single-pane sunroof, a rare feature in subcompact sedans.

Powertrain Options and Fuel Efficiency

Under the hood, the Dzire is powered by a new 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine delivering 82 PS and 112 Nm of torque. Customers can choose between a 5-speed manual and an automatic (AMT) transmission, with fuel efficiency rated at an impressive 24.79 kmpl for the manual and 25.71 kmpl for the AMT variant. For those seeking an economical alternative, the Dzire’s CNG variant provides a reduced output of 70 PS and 102 Nm but boasts a fuel economy of 33.73 km/kg.

Safety and Ratings

Safety is a highlight of the 2024 Dzire, which has achieved a landmark 5-star Global NCAP rating, a first for Maruti Suzuki in India. Standard safety features include six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill-hold assist, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. In addition, the Dzire offers a 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, and three-point seat belts for all seats, further enhancing passenger protection and comfort.

Pricing and Subscription Plans

The Dzire’s pricing starts at Rs 6.79 lakh for the entry-level petrol manual LXi variant, reaching up to Rs 10.14 lakh for the top-end petrol AMT ZXi Plus. The CNG-powered variants start at Rs 8.74 lakh. Maruti has also introduced subscription plans for the new Dzire, with options starting at Rs 18,248 per month. These plans cover registration, maintenance, insurance, and roadside assistance, offering a flexible ownership experience for urban commuters.

Rivals and Competition

The 2024 Dzire competes with the likes of the Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, and the upcoming Honda Amaze. By offering more features, a distinct design, and robust safety ratings, Maruti Suzuki aims to solidify the Dzire’s position in the competitive subcompact sedan market.

With its fresh design, feature-rich interior, and commitment to safety, the 2024 Maruti Dzire is set to appeal to a wide range of customers, from budget-conscious buyers to urban commuters looking for a reliable and stylish ride.
