2024 BYD Atto 3 Launched at 9 Lakh Cheaper Price of 24.99 Lakh

BYD has launched the 2024 Atto 3 EV in India with new features and two new variants that drastically reduce its starting price. The new ex-showroom price of the base Atto 3 is 24.99 Lakh (ex-showroom, introductory). This price means the SUV is Rs 9 Lakh, more affordable than before the 2024 update. You now have three variants that you can choose while buying the Atto 3: Dynamic, Premium, and Superior. Here is all we know about the updated electric SUV.

New Variants of 2024 Atto 3

The new entry-level Dynamic variant of the BYD Atto 3 2024 now gets a smaller 49.92 kWh battery pack that gets a claimed range of 468 km. The other two variants still use the same 60.48 kWh battery pack as before, which can last you a range of 521 km on a full charge. The time taken for the Atto 3 to be charged from 0 to 80 per cent is 50 minutes with a fast charger. With a home charger, this time is increased to 8 hours for the smaller battery and 10 hours for the larger one. These batteries power the same single rear-axle motor that churns out 204 hp and 310 Nm of torque.

New Features of 2024 Atto 3

The Dynamic trim of the Atto 3 2024 will get features like the 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 5-inch digital instrument panel, wireless charger, 360-degree surround camera and power-assisted seat. Compared to the Superior variant, it misses out on features like ambient lighting, ADAS level 2, an electronically operable tailgate and an 8-speaker music system that is replaced by a 6-speaker setup. It also gets smaller 17-inch wheels. The Premium variant does not get the ambient lights available in the Superior trim. The superior trim is equipped with all the features of the SUV.

You can now buy the Atto 3 in a new hue, Cosmos black. The ‘Build Your Dreams’ badge has also been replaced with a simpler ‘BYD’ one.

Competitors of Atto 3

The Atto 3 competes with two EVs according to its variant. The Superior and Premium variants go up against the Hyundai Ioniq 5 due to their price and high battery capacity. The lower Dynamic variant locks horns with the MG ZS EV due to being more affordable and having a similarly sized battery. There is also a plethora of upcoming EVs that it might have to battle with. These include the Maruti Suzuki eVX, the Creta EV, and the Harrier EV.
