Indian largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, has finally launched the facelifted Ertiga at Rs 8.35 lakh. The launch also marks the tenth anniversary of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which has served the needs of Indian customers with its overall offerings. Infact, it has been the highest-selling MPV in India over the years. And now, the brand wishes to strengthen its market position by giving a mid-cycle update to the Ertiga.
The next-gen Ertiga comes with a new K-series 1.5-litre, DualJet, Dual VVT, four-cylinder petrol engine with Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology. The engine now gets a 6-speed automatic transmission, ditching out a 4-speed automatic gearbox in the outgoing model. Moreover, the automatic variant gets paddle shifters to keep driving engaging. Not just the petrol engine, the brand has brought a factory-fitted CNG option whose price starts at 10.44 lakhs and goes all the way up to 11.54 lakhs. On the other hand, the top end ZXI+ variant with automatic transmission goes up to Rs 12.79 lakh.
On the outside, the facelifted Ertiga is now more stylish and elegant with dynamic chrome winged front grille, new machined two-tone alloy wheels and back door garnish with a chrome insert. The Next-Gen Ertiga is now available in 6 colour options by introducing two new colours - Splendid Silver and Dignity Brown. Whereas on the inside, the cabin is a little more refreshed, as it receives a new Metallic Teak Wooden finish on the dashboard and new dual-tone seat fabric.
The DualJet petrol engine churns out 103 hp of power and 137 Nm of torque, whereas the one paired with CNG ditches out 87 hp of power and 121.5 Nm of torque. Maruti Suzuki is known for its fuel-efficient cars, and the facelifted Ertiga is no different. ARAI claimed fuel efficiency for the petrol variant is 20.51km/l, whereas it goes up to 26.11 km/kg for the CNG variant.
Maruti Suzuki has given enough attention to the convenience sector as well. The Next-Gen Ertiga can also be remotely accessed through a compatible smartwatch and voice connectivity through the Suzuki Connect skill for Amazon Alexa. To further elevate the experience, one can remotely access & operate the AC function, door lock, headlamps OFF, hazard lights, alarm, and many more features through their devices. 2022 Facelifted Ertiga has also got SmartPlay Pro Infotainment System that can be accessed through an onboard voice assistant and can also be triggered with the "Hi Suzuki" command. The in-built Suzuki Connect takes the connected car experience of the vehicle to an all-new level by offering over 40+ features for vehicle safety & security, trips & driving behaviour, status alerts and remote operations.
The updated Ertiga is now even more advanced and efficient, not just in terms of its features and convenience but also in its powertrain department. The Ertiga will go up against recently launched Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
