The Indian auto market recorded healthy sales figures last year, crossing over the 4 million mark for the first time. The demand is at an all-time high, and the OEMs are on their toes to deliver. With the recorded sales and its projected supply, the road infrastructure needs to cope with the demand. The sales data from the SIAM (The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, an apex national body representing all major vehicle and vehicular engine manufacturers in India, shared state-wise sales data of India's major states from October to December 2023. Maharashtra tops the chart in the passenger vehicle segment with a domination of 11.96%, followed by UP, which accounts for 10.04%. Gujrat takes the third spot with a total of 8.46% of the share.
When it comes to the two-wheeler segment, UP tops the chart with 14.35% of domination. Maharashtra comes second with 10.98% of the market share, followed by Madhya Pradesh with a total share of 7.14%. The CV segment is topped by Maharashtra, with a total of 13.24% of the share, followed by Uttar Pradesh (9.84%) and Gujrat (8.69%).
