The Bharat Mobility Expo 2025 introduced us to new cars, from the world-class Porschas to the more affordable Maruti Suzuki. We also have a new player in the Indian EV market - VinFast, and an electric sport - MG Cyberster. Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

Maruti Suzuki has made its highly anticipated entry into the electric vehicle (EV) segment by unveiling the e-VITARA at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Maruti Suzuki is poised to revolutionise the EV landscape with its unparalleled reach and deep market penetration. This launch underscores its commitment to decarbonisation and advancing mobility solutions for India and global markets.

The e-VITARA is built on the all-new HEARTECT-e platform, optimised for EV performance and efficiency. It offers two battery options—49kWh and 61kWh—providing a driving range exceeding 500 km on a single charge (tested in-house). The powertrain is equipped with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor delivering up to 128 kW of power and 192.5 Nm of torque, ensuring robust performance.

Packed with premium features, the e-VITARA includes Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), a 10-way power-adjustable driver seat, ventilated front seats, and a twin-deck floating digital cockpit. The vehicle supports smart home charging and has a comprehensive network of plug-and-play fast chargers at over 1,000 dealerships, making EV ownership seamless for customers.

Maruti Suzuki plans to export the e-VITARA to over 100 global markets, positioning India as a global hub for EV manufacturing.

MG Cyberster 

JSW-MG India has officially unveiled its highly anticipated electric sports car, the MG Cyberster, at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. Positioned as the fastest roadster yet, the Cyberster marks a bold entry into the Indian luxury EV segment. It will be exclusively sold through MG Select, a premium retail network launched by the automaker to cater to high-end customers.

The MG Cyberster is powered by a 77 kWh battery pack paired with dual electric motors—one on each axle—making it an all-wheel-drive vehicle. The Cyberster’s electric powertrain delivers a stunning 503 bhp and 725 Nm of torque, with a claimed 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.2 seconds.

With the Cyberster, MG is setting new benchmarks in India’s premium electric vehicle space, combining cutting-edge technology, luxury, and performance.

 

VinFast VF3

VinFast made waves at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, showcasing a lineup of vehicles, with the compact mini-SUV VF 3 drawing the most attention.

The VinFast VF 3 is powered by an 18.64 kWh battery, delivering 43.5 bhp and 110 Nm of torque. It offers a claimed range of 215 km on a single charge and supports fast charging, allowing the battery to go from 10% to 70% in just 36 minutes.

While the VF 3’s launch date is yet to be announced, its compact dimensions and urban-friendly design stole the spotlight. Measuring 3,190 mm in length, 1,679 mm in width, and 1,622 mm in height, the VF 3 features 16-inch wheels and a ground clearance of 191 mm, making it well-suited for city roads.

The VF 3 has drawn comparisons to the MG Comet due to its similar purpose as a practical urban EV. The VF 3 could be a strong contender in the compact EV segment, with an expected price range comparable to the MG Comet.

Tata Sierra 

Tata unveiled the highly anticipated Sierra at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025, confirming its availability in petrol, diesel, and all-electric versions. Interestingly, the Sierra EV will hit the market before its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts.

The ICE version of the Sierra is expected to offer two engine options. The first is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, delivering 170 bhp and 280 Nm of torque. The second option is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, producing 170 bhp and 350 Nm of torque, the same engine found in Tata’s Harrier and Safari models.

The Sierra will head-to-head with segment rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Mahindra Thar Roxx, promising to add excitement to the competitive SUV market.

Skoda Octavia vRS Facelift

The Skoda Octavia vRS is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that delivers 261 hp and 370 Nm of peak torque, paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. This setup enables the car to sprint from 0-100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds, with a top speed capped at 250 km/h, offering exhilarating performance for enthusiasts.

On the exterior, the Octavia vRS features Skoda’s signature butterfly grille, flanked by LED matrix beam headlights and updated tail lights. The facelifted model boasts a redesigned bumper, blacked-out accents, and 18-inch alloy wheels, giving it a sporty and aggressive stance.

The interior matches the performance-oriented theme with an updated steering wheel and many premium features. It includes a 13-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a wireless charger. Combining performance with practicality, the Octavia vRS is a dynamic, feature-packed offering.
