What exactly has Manhart done here? Well, in their infinite wisdom, they’ve taken an already quite bonkers Porsche 911 GT2 RS and decided it simply wasn’t terrifying enough. So, they’ve bolted on a pair of larger TTH turbochargers, slotted in an aluminium manifold, upgraded the charge air cooler, and pinched a new intercooler from Manthey Racing—who, if you’re not aware, are the people Porsche turns to when it wants to break records and induce fear.
They’ve also chucked in a new exhaust system, fiddled with the ECU, and given the gearbox a recalibration, complete with a fortified clutch—presumably to prevent it from exploding into tiny, expensive pieces the first time you dare launch it off the line.
To ensure this rocket doesn’t instantly hurl itself into a hedge, Manhart has added KW coilover suspension—again from Manthey, because at this point, why not?—and wrapped a set of forged wheels in Continental SportContact tyres. They say the GT2 RS’s standard carbon ceramic brakes are up to the task, but they’ll swap them out if you’re feeling particularly nervous. However, let’s face it: if you’re in the market for a 953bhp rear-wheel-drive 911, the idea of slowing down is probably not high on your list of priorities.
Aesthetically, the changes are subtle. A wider front splitter, some canards, and a revised rear diffuser. To the uninitiated, it still looks like a GT2 RS, which is brilliant because it means you can invite unsuspecting passengers for a drive and then watch in amusement as they experience a religious awakening when you put your foot down.
As for the numbers, no official figures have been provided, but given the power and weight, we can reasonably estimate a 0-100kmph time of “OH DEAR GOD” and a top speed of “somewhere around 340kmph!
So, if you’re the sort of person who considers skydiving a casual hobby or thinks fighter jets are a bit underpowered, the Manhart TR 950 might be just the thing for you. I, however, will remain here, with a cup of tea, and leave the lunacy to braver souls.
