New Skoda Superb Showcased at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025

The fourth-generation Skoda Superb debuted at the India Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. Known for its premium appeal, the new Superb retains its familiar design while introducing significant updates to its interior, features, and powertrain options. Pricing details are expected to be announced later this year.

Design:

The 2025 Skoda Superb’s exterior design evolves subtly while maintaining its recognizably elegant silhouette. At the front, the bold butterfly grille with chrome accents is flanked by sharp LED Matrix headlights featuring LED daytime running lights (DRLs). The sculpted bonnet adds a touch of aggression, while the bumper integrates sleek fog lamps, enhancing its premium look.

The sedan’s long wheelbase and pronounced shoulder lines underscore its executive appeal. It rides on multi-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels, adding a touch of modern sophistication. At the rear, C-shaped LED taillights connected by a chrome strip and the bold SKODA lettering on the tailgate complete the refined aesthetic.

Interior and Features:

Inside, the Skoda Superb offers a spacious and plush cabin featuring high-quality materials like soft-touch surfaces, leather upholstery, and ambient lighting. A redesigned dashboard houses a 13-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system equipped with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside physical knobs for ease of use. The 10-inch digital driver’s display adds to the high-tech feel of the cabin.

Passenger comfort is a priority, with ventilated and heated front seats offering a massage function, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12-speaker Canton sound system. Rear passengers benefit from generous legroom, making it an excellent choice for chauffeur-driven buyers.

Safety:

The Skoda Superb has multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), and a 360-degree camera. Additionally, it offers Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) functionality, including features like adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, ensuring a safer driving experience.

Powertrain:

The new Skoda Superb has multiple powertrain options globally, though the India-spec model is expected to feature the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This unit delivers 261 bhp and 400 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

Internationally, the lineup also includes:

  • 1.5-litre Turbo Petrol Mild Hybrid: Produces 148 bhp and is paired with a 7-speed DCT.
  • 1.5-litre Turbo Petrol Plug-in Hybrid: Offers 201 bhp with a 6-speed DCT.
  • 2.0-litre Diesel Engine: Generates 190 bhp with a 7-speed DCT.

The hybrid options have front-wheel drive, while the turbo petrol and diesel engines offer all-wheel drive configurations. Details on which options will be available in India have yet to be confirmed.

Price and Rivals

The Skoda Superb is expected to be priced starting at approximately ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). Positioned in the premium sedan segment, it will compete with models like the Toyota Camry Hybrid, known for its blend of luxury and efficiency.
