Tesla has introduced its Halloween Mode in India for the first time, bringing a festive software update to the Model Y and Model Y L. The new feature transforms the electric SUVs into a Halloween-themed experience with spooky lighting effects, customised vehicle graphics, sound effects and interactive features.
The Halloween Mode is being rolled out through an Over-The-Air (OTA) software update, allowing existing Tesla owners to access the new features without visiting a service centre. Customers can also visit their nearest Tesla Experience Centre to experience the update in person.
The update brings several Halloween-themed additions to the Tesla experience. These include a Ghost Costume, which gives the car's in-app avatar a festive ghost-inspired appearance, and a Trick or Treat Mode, which activates spooky sound effects and flickering lights as visitors approach the vehicle.
Tesla has also introduced a new Signature Light Show, featuring a Halloween-inspired lighting sequence accompanied by exclusive seasonal wraps and an eerie lock sound. The update further adds a Photobooth Experience, allowing occupants to capture themed photographs directly through the vehicle.
Another addition is the Voice From Beyond feature, which lets owners use the Tesla app to send a voice message that is played through the car in its distinctive voice. This feature is designed to add an interactive element when surprising guests, neighbours and trick-or-treaters.
OTA Updates and Tesla's Festive Campaign
Tesla says its OTA update system continuously delivers new features, improvements and performance enhancements to its vehicles without requiring customers to schedule service appointments or visit service centres.
Alongside the Halloween Mode announcement, Tesla is inviting customers across India to visit its Experience Centres to see the new features in action on the Model Y. The company has also extended its Switch & Save Carnival through Diwali, offering additional benefits to customers considering switching to an electric vehicle.
The Halloween Mode update adds a seasonal touch to Tesla's connected-car experience, highlighting how software updates can introduce new entertainment and personalisation features even after a vehicle has been purchased.
