Hyundai Creta Summer Edition launched with more features, prices from Rs 12.05 lakh

Hyundai has introduced new Summer Edition variants of the Creta, adding more features across select trims while keeping the core package unchanged. Prices now start at Rs 12.05 lakh and go up to Rs 17.88 lakh (ex-showroom).

The update is focused on improving convenience and technology, especially in the mid variants where most buyers tend to gravitate.

The biggest change is the redistribution of features. Even the lower EX Summer Edition now gets a smart key and push-button start, making it feel less basic than before. Move up to the EX(O) variant, and you get LED headlamps, LED tail-lamps, DRLs, rear camera with dynamic guidelines and a rear sunshade, along with updated styling elements like dual-tone wheels.

Higher up the range, Hyundai has added features that were earlier limited to top trims. The S(O) variants now get a dashcam, which supports multiple recording modes, including event recording and on-demand video capture. It is a practical addition rather than a headline feature, but one that adds everyday usability.

The SX and SX Premium variants see more substantial upgrades. These include a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, surround view monitor, blind spot view monitor and front parking sensors. These are features that directly improve ease of driving in urban conditions, which is where the Creta spends most of its time.

Mechanically, nothing has changed. The Creta continues with its 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, paired with manual and automatic gearbox options depending on the variant.

Prices for the Summer Edition variants range from Rs 12.05 lakh for the base petrol manual to Rs 17.88 lakh for the higher-spec versions. The spread ensures that buyers across different budgets get access to added features rather than limiting them to the top end.

This is a typical Creta update. No major mechanical changes, no dramatic redesign, but a careful addition of features where they matter most. It keeps the product fresh and, more importantly, competitive in a segment where feature lists often decide the winner.
