DS No7 debuts as the brand's new flagship SUV with multiple powertrain options

Say hello to the all-new DS No7 - a key model for DS Automobiles (a premium arm of French automaker Renault). This premium mid-size SUV replaces the brand’s earlier best-seller - the DS 7 - and is expected to play a major role in its future lineup, especially as the company continues to expand its electric vehicle portfolio.

Slightly larger than its predecessor at around 4.66 metres in length, the DS No7 offers improved interior space while retaining a strong SUV stance. The exterior design brings in several new elements, including an illuminated front grille, sharp V-shaped lighting signatures and a contrasting black roof option. Large 21-inch wheels further enhance its road presence, while the rear features a distinctive ‘Light Blade’ lighting design that gives the SUV a unique visual identity.

The highlight of the lineup is the long-range electric version, which offers a claimed driving range of up to 740km. This front-wheel-drive variant is powered by a 97.2kWh battery pack mounted under the floor and produces 240bhp, with a temporary boost function increasing output to 278bhp. Aerodynamic efficiency also plays a key role, with a drag coefficient of 0.26 helping maximise range.

An all-wheel-drive version is also available using the same battery, delivering higher performance with up to 368bhp when boost mode is activated. This variant offers a slightly lower range of around 679km but compensates with stronger acceleration, capable of reaching 0 to 100kph in approximately 5.4 seconds, making it the quickest model in the lineup.

For buyers looking for a more accessible option, DS is offering a front-wheel-drive version with a 73.7kWh battery pack. This variant delivers up to 543km of range and produces 225bhp, which can increase to 258bhp with the boost function engaged.

Charging capabilities are another strong point, with support for up to 160kW DC fast charging. This allows the battery to charge from 20 to 80 per cent in around 27 minutes, while also adding up to 190km of range in just 10 minutes under ideal conditions. The SUV also includes features such as adjustable regenerative braking and a one-pedal driving mode to improve overall efficiency.

Alongside the electric variants, the DS No7 will also be available with a self-charging hybrid powertrain. This setup combines a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine with an electric motor to deliver a total output of 141bhp, and it is capable of running in electric mode for a significant portion of city driving.

Inside, the DS No7 features a premium and technology-focused cabin inspired by the DS No8. It includes a large 16-inch central touchscreen, a 10-inch digital instrument display and a distinctive X-shaped steering wheel design. High-quality materials and a cocoon-like layout aim to enhance comfort for both driver and passengers. The SUV is equipped with a wide range of advanced driver assistance systems, including Level 2 semi-autonomous features such as adaptive cruise control and lane-change assist. Additional highlights include night vision, an optional digital rear-view mirror and navigation systems specifically designed to optimise electric driving.
