Design, Chassis, Suspension and Brakes
The ZXMoto 500RR gets a very sharp and edgy design, with typical supersport styling. It features a fully faired body with aggressive lines, a compact front end and prominent aerodynamic fins that give it a more purposeful, race-inspired stance. It is underpinned by an integrated steel trellis frame. Suspension duties are handled by 41mm fully-adjustable upside-down forks at the front and a fully adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by dual 300mm discs at the front with four-piston Taisko calipers and a 240mm disc with two-piston Taisko caliper at the rear.
Engine and Gearbox
The ZX500RR is powered by a 470cc inline four-cylinder engine which produces 84hp at a staggering 13,500rpm and 46Nm of torque at 11,500rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. It also gets a RAM-air intake which improves performance at high speeds. ZXMoto claims that the ZX500RR can do 0-100kmph run in just 3.4 seconds.
Features and Rider-Aids
The ZX500RR gets a six-axis IMU which enables Cornering ABS and traction control, It also gets four riding modes: Beginner, Street, Sport and Custom. Other features include TFT display and all LED lighting
Verdict
The ZX500RR packs some serious performance and goes head-to-head with the Kawasaki ZX-4RR. It makes more power than its Japanese rival and, arguably, looks more aggressive too. However, concerns around Chinese reliability could be the biggest factor holding the ZX500RR back.
