Yamaha unveils 4 new two-wheelers, including its first EVs! | XSR155, Aerox E, EC-06, FZ-Rave

Yes you've read that right! Yamaha has uneviled four new two-wheelers for the Indian market. The Japanese branda has finally launched the much-awaited XSR155, a neo-retro bike, the FZ-Rave and a couple of electric scooters - Aerox E and EC-06 - marking its entry into the electric vehicle market. The brand has also announced that it will unveil a total of nine new two-wheelers for the Indian market, soon! Let's get into the details of these new bikes.

The XSR155 is finally here!

The Yamaha XSR155 has been sold overseas for quite sometime. It's a neo-retro roadster which shares its underpinnings with the R15 and the MT-15. Priced at ₹1,49,990 (ex-showroom Delhi), the motorcycle carries Yamaha’s distinctive XSR DNA, featuring a classic round LED headlamp and taillight, teardrop-shaped fuel tank, and a vintage-style LCD console. It's underpinned by the Deltabox main frame but gets a bespoke sub-frame, with 17-inch wheels, an aluminium swingarm, an upside-down front fork and a monoshock at the back. It also has a flat seat, and a classic-style fuel tank.

Powering the XSR155 is a 155cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA), producing 18.1bhp and 14.2 Nm of torque. On the safety front, it has dual-channel ABS and traction control, plus an assist and slipper clutch. Yamaha offers the XSR155 in four colours — Metallic Grey, Vivid Red, Greyish Green Metallic, and Metallic Blue — along with two optional accessory kits: Scrambler and Cafe Racer.

Yamaha Steps Into the EV Space with the AEROX-E and EC-06

With the launch of its first two electric models, Yamaha is stepping into India’s EV era with performance and practicality at its core. First is an electric scooter that nobody saw coming! The Aerox-E.

The Aerox-E carries forward the Maxi Sports styling from the standard ICE Aerox. It looks largely the same, save for teal accents in some places. The scooter is powered by a 9.4kW motor delivering 48Nm of torque. It uses two detachable 1.5kWh batteries, offering a certified range of 106km. Riders can switch between Eco, Standard, and Power modes, with a ‘Boost’ function for rapid acceleration. A reverse mode adds convenience, while front and rear disc brakes with single-channel ABS enhance safety. It has a 5-inch colour TFT display with turn-by-turn navigation, which also also supports Y-Connect smartphone app, enabling features like last-parked location and maintenance alerts.

The second electric scooter is the EC-06

The EC-06 is aimed at comfier daily commuting. And spoiler alert, it's based on the River Indie!
It's powered by a 4.5 kW motor (6.7 kW peak) and a 4 kWh fixed battery, it offers a claimed range of 160km on a single charge. The battery can be fully charged at home in about 9 hours using a standard socket. The EC-06 offers three riding modes and a reverse function for easy manoeuvring in tight spaces. Its clean, balanced styling gives it a strong urban appeal, while the front and rear disc brakes, LED lights, and colour LCD display ensure safety and modern functionality. Connectivity is enhanced with a built-in telematics SIM, offering real-time data access. With 24.5 litres of under-seat storage, the EC-06 is practical for everyday use, designed for riders who want simplicity with modern design.

Prices for both the Aerox-E and the EC-06 will be revealed in early 2026.

The FZ-RAVE

Yamaha also expanded its legendary FZ family with the new FZ-RAVE, priced at ₹1,17,218 (ex-showroom Delhi). It features an LED projector headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, sporty air vents, compact exhaust, and a sleek tail design. It comes in Matte Titan and Metallic Black colour options. Powered by a 149cc air-cooled engine delivering 13bhp, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. With a 13-litre fuel tank, front and rear disc brakes, and single-channel ABS. 

Commenting on the new launches, Mr. Itaru Otani, Chairman of Yamaha Motor India Group, said: “India is central to Yamaha’s global growth strategy. The XSR155, our first EVs, and the new FZ-RAVE mark a significant step in strengthening our presence and supporting India’s transition to sustainable mobility.”
