Updated Guerrilla 450 launched at ₹2.49 lakh

Royal Enfield has launched its Guerrilla 450 roadster with fresher colours, grippier tyres and revised ergonomics for a sportier riding triangle. Is this the update that the Guerrilla always needed?

What's changed?

Royal Enfield has launched a new Apex variant along with 4 new colours: Apex Red, Apex Black, Apex Green and Twilight Blue. The original Guerrilla was often criticised for its tyres, so Royal Enfield has addressed that issue with the new Apex variant offering grippier Vredestein Centuro ST tyres for a better all-year grip. The other variants also get updated CEAT GRIPP XL tyres with a different compound and thread pattern.

Royal Enfield has introduced a new aluminium handlebar for the Apex model, which is lower than the standard model, providing a sportier riding triangle. Other changes include a body coloured cowl on the rear seat and a small flyscreen above the headlamp.

The Guerrilla also gets updated street and sport riding modes with a retention feature that remembers the mode depending on the previous ignition cycle.

What's under the hood?

Mechanically, the Guerrilla remains unchanged, featuring the same 452cc single-cylinder Sherpa engine producing 39.5bhp and 40Nm of torque with a 6-speed gearbox. Fuel tank remains at 9 litres, which is an area where Royal Enfield could improve, as the tank range on the Guerrilla is a bit less compared to its competitors, namely the Speed 400 or the upcoming Speed 350. Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm telescopic fork up front and a Showa monoshock at the rear, and it has a 310mm disc up front and a 270mm disc at the rear, completing the braking setup.

Features and tech

The Guerrilla comes equipped with a 4-inch circular TFT display, which has built-in navigation via phone link. It has 2 riding modes: Street and Sport, with dual-channel ABS and ride-by-wire throttle as standard, but it misses out on crucial features like traction control and cruise control.

Pricing and rivals

Royal Enfeild has launched the Guerilla at an introductory price of ₹2.49 lakh for the base Apex Red, and prices go to ₹2.79 lakh for the top Brava Blue colour. The main competitors are the Triumph Speed 400 and the upcoming Triumph Speed 350. Bookings are open now, and deliveries are expected to start in April 2026.
