Ather Energy has launched its all-new electric scooter, the Konarc, at the fourth edition of Ather Community Day 2026.The Ather Konarc is Based on the all-new EL platform, the Ather Konarc has been developed with a focus on lower servicing costs, easier charging and everyday usability rather than performance alone. Unlike the aluminium-chassis which underpins the Ather 450 series and the Ather Rizta, the Ather Konarc is underpinned by a steel unibody chassis. It will be available in S and Z product lines with multiple battery and range options.
Battery and Motor
The Ather Konarc gets three battery pack options: 2.1kWh, 2.7kWh and 3.5kWh and they deliver an IDC range of 100km, 125km and 161km respectively. This battery pack sends power to a mid-mounted PMSM motor which sends power to the rear wheel by a belt drive system. This motor produces peak power of 4kW and 16Nm of torque whereas the motor paired with the larger battery pack produces 4.7kW and 16Nm of torque. Charging duties are handled by a 450W onboard charger which charges the scooter from 0-80 per cent in 5 hours 40 minutes. Customers who want more charging speeds can also opt for a 450W charger which increases the charging speed to 900W and can charge this scooter from 0-80 per cent in 3 hours 10 minutes.
Suspension and Brakes
Suspension duties on the Ather Konarc are handled by telescopic forks at the front with 90mm of travel, and it gets dual shock absorbers at the rear with 100mm of travel. Braking hardware varies depending on the variant. The base variant gets a 130mm drum brake at both ends. The mid and the top variants get a 220mm front disc brake paired with a 130mm rear drum brake. The scooter also gets Ather’s Advanced Electronic Braking System. This system automatically adjusts the balance of braking force between the front and rear wheels, unlike conventional braking systems that use a fixed distribution of braking force.
Wheels and Dimensions
The Ather Konarc gets a 14-inch front wheel and a 12-inch rear wheel. It has a wheelbase of 1,352mm. The base and mid-spec variants weigh 126.5kg in kerb weight, while the top 161km range variant weighs 129kg.
Features
The Ather Konarc gets different instrument clusters depending on the variant. The base Konarc S gets a 4.2-inch DeepView display, while the mid-spec and top-spec variants get a larger 7-inch DeepView display. The scooter comes with three riding modes: SmartEco, Eco and Power, along with smartphone connectivity that allows riders to access call and music controls.
The top variants also get Ather’s new AirWalk feature, which makes it easier to move the scooter when it is switched off. They also get an AutoHold function that keeps the scooter stationary when stopped on an incline. In terms of practicality, the Konarc offers 31 litres of under-seat storage along with a 2-litre front storage compartment. The front storage area also features a mobile phone holder and a USB charging port.
Variants and Pricing
The Ather Konarc will be offered under the S and Z product lines, with a total of six variants planned. The Konarc S is currently available with three announced range options. The base 100km IDC range variant is priced at ₹99,999 (ex-showroom), while the 125km IDC range variant costs ₹1,21,999 (ex-showroom). The 161km IDC range variant is priced at ₹1,44,999 (ex-showroom). A 200km IDC range Konarc S variant is also planned, but its price has not yet been announced. The Konarc Z will be offered with 125km and 161km IDC range options, with pricing for these variants yet to be revealed. The Konarc S will be available in four colour options.
With its new EL platform, steel unibody chassis, multiple battery options, integrated charger and focus on practicality, the Ather Konarc is positioned as a more accessible electric scooter in Ather Energy’s line-up.
