The generously sized doors of the Comet are a double edged sword. While they offer easy ingress and egress for all four passengers their weight seems to put a strain on the hinges. Our test car experienced a slight door misalignment at higher speeds, resulting in some wind noise. A quick service center visit remedied the issue to an extent, but a faint whistle persists at highway speeds exceeding 90 kmph. The smaller wheels, perfectly adequate for smooth roads, can be a tad unforgiving on Mumbai’s infamous potholes. They lack the cushioning effect of larger rims, transmitting more road imperfections into the cabin. However, this is a minor trade-off for the car’s otherwise impressive maneuverability in tight city spaces. Despite these minor niggles, the Comet has proven surprisingly resilient.
