Audi just threw down the gauntlet, wrapped in a sleek electric suit that looks straight out of Tony Stark’s garage. Say hello to the 2025 RS e-tron GT and its hypersibling, the RS e-tron GT Performance. If you think electric cars are all about whispering through traffic like a sensible librarian, these bad boys will make you rethink everything with a serious electrifying acceleration. An A-to-Z masterclass in what happens when Audi blends muscle car aggression with a spaceship’s serenity, and then douses it all in eco-friendly fairy dust. We drove it in Frankfurt recently to test how much it has juiced up for the years ahead.
The “entry-level”; if you can call anything with 670 Bhp as basic… If not that, 147 Bhp has been bumped up in it from the already on-road RS e-trons. It does 0-100 in 3.4 seconds, for an ‘entry-level’ it's confusing figures. Think of it as a tuxedo with sneakers—a blend of posh and power. It’s got more flex than your average TikTok dancer. Though you will wonder from the outside what's changed, aside from the bumpers, not a single exterior panel has been updated. But now, it's got juiced up under the hood, and more trims and personalisation are available, including eucalyptus wood for the dashboard.
The RS goes up by 208 Bhp to get a scorecard of 845 Bhp and can do a 0-100 Km/h run in 2.8 Seconds! The 105kWh battery pack now weighs 9kg less than before at 625 kilograms. It has almost 12% more capacity and claims a range of 609 km.
Now we’re talking! A muscle-bound baller with 912 Bhp. This guy’s got a 0-100km/h time of 2.5 seconds, which is basically a “blink-and-you’re-gone” scenario. Yet, it’s got the grace of a figure skater. It seriously can go on a drag race parallelly on the ground with a missile and can become the winner. I actually did test myself and got 2.5 seconds on the screen. It also gets an extra 95 hp for 10 seconds via a cool Boost button on the steering wheel. In the performance model, there’s also an RS button - RS1 and RS2 – which can be configured to be put in attack mode with just a flick of your thumb.
The 2025 Audi RS e-tron GT, in all its versions, is the automotive equivalent of a flex emoji. It’s everything you’d want in a high-performance EV without the smugness. With neck-snapping speed, ridiculous range, and enough tech to make NASA engineers swoon, Audi’s created a legit electric dream machine. It’s equal parts sophistication and hooliganism—a vehicle that’s a gentleman at the club but a beast on the track. It is set to hit Indian roads between early and mid-2025; the new e-tron GT lineup is rolling in with all three variants in tow. Current ex-showroom prices flirt with the Rs 2 crore mark, but the facelift? It will cross that line, which is justified given the boatload of power upgrades on board and that smooth active suspension. This isn’t just a facelift—it’s a full-on glow-up, inside and out. In a word, it's the best-looking Audi ever and, to my eyes, more elegant than the Porsche Taycan, with which it shares its spine and blood group.
