We spent roughly a week with the 2025 Suzuki Access 125 navigating Mumbai's urban jungle. From daily commutes to quick errands, this scooter proved to be a capable and convenient companion. Rather than talking about the specs sheet, let’s focus on what truly matters—how it feels to ride and live with.
The Access 125 is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that produces 8.3 bhp at 6500 rpm and 10.2 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. On paper, those numbers are modest, but in practice, the scooter feels lively in urban conditions and is adequately powered for city use.
The suspension on the Access is genuinely impressive—plush enough to take on Mumbai’s harsh and inconsistent road surfaces without breaking a sweat. It absorbs bumps and potholes well, encouraging you to take it out no matter the road ahead.
The seat is wide and supportive, offering ample space for most riders. However, after about 45 minutes, we often needed to stop and stretch. The comfort isn’t bad, but there’s room for improvement, especially for longer commutes. Thankfully, aftermarket seat cushions or upgrades could address this minor flaw.
With a seat height of 770 mm and a ground clearance of 160 mm, the scooter is accessible to a wide range of riders. Its nimble nature and these dimensions make it exceptionally user-friendly in tight city spaces.
Visually, not much has changed from the previous generation of the Access 125, but that isn’t necessarily bad. What truly sets the 2025 model apart is its solid build quality and the fresh new colour options. The design is simple yet elegant, and while the scooter appears a bit slimmer than before, this only adds to its practical appeal in crowded cities. That said, those who prefer a more muscular-looking scooter might find the Access a little visually underwhelming.
The Ride Connect feature—Suzuki’s smart connectivity system—is present, but it feels underwhelming. It works fine, but for the added cost, it doesn’t offer enough to be a must-have. Many riders will be perfectly content with the mid-spec Special Edition variant that skips this feature.
Storage is a mixed bag. The under-seat boot is spacious and can hold daily essentials, but like most scooters, it falls short of fitting a full-face helmet. Still, it’s enough for a small bag or groceries. The 5.3-litre fuel tank is a welcome addition, offering extended range and fewer stops at the petrol pump, especially handy in traffic-heavy cities.
A couple of things pull the Access 125 down from near perfection. The stock tyres lack grip, which can reduce rider confidence. Replacing them with grippier aftermarket options would be smart for regular riders.
Then there are the mirrors. On the top-spec variant, the circular chrome mirrors look stunning—almost retro in design—but sadly, they’re more style than substance. They offer limited rear visibility and are more decorative than practical.
The 2025 Suzuki Access 125 hits the sweet spot for city riders. It’s refined, fun to ride, well-built, and practical in almost every way. Whether you’re running errands, heading to work, or simply zipping through traffic, the Access feels at home. Sure, the mirrors and tyres need improvement, but those are relatively minor issues in what is otherwise a highly competent and enjoyable scooter.
