Soon after launching the updated MY2022 KTM 390 Adventure in India, the Austrian bikemaker has now revealed the prices for the heavily updated RC 390. Although it hasn’t been launched officially, the new RC 390’s price has been listed on the official website. According to the brand’s official website, the updated RC 390 will carry a sticker price of INR 3.14 Lakh ex-showroom, making it around INR 36,000 costlier than the outgoing model. For the deeper hole that it will burn in your pocket, the new RC 390 also brings a lot to the table.
What has changed in the new RC 390
Not only mechanically but KTM has also given the RC 390 a major overhaul in the looks department. The updated RC 200, RC 125 and the RC 390 share the same updated design philosophy which is also claimed to be more aerodynamically efficient.
The only visual takeaway that makes the RC 390 stand apart from its siblings is the different colour palette as it gets two new colourways: KTM Electronic Orange and KTM Factory Racing Blue.
Although the international-spec RC 390 does get adjustable suspension at both ends, the Indian website of the brand only confirms that there’s preload adjustment for the rear monoshock.
Since the updated RC 390 has received a significant price bump over its outgoing model, it wouldn’t hurt to have adjustable suspension at the front as well. Other additions to the updated RC 390 are an LED headlight setup and TFT display which is Bluetooth-equipped. It also gets a larger 13.7-litre fuel tank.
The powertrain of the updated RC 390 remains the same as it still displaces 373cc while putting down 43.5hp at 9,000rpm and 37Nm at 7,000rpm. However, the engine mapping has been improved by KTM accompanied by a 40% larger airbox. The new RC 390 has also gained a bi-directional quickshifter which should make it even more precise on its homeground – the racetrack.
