Skoda India’s flagship SUV – Kodiaq,Marks Its Re-entry I Prices Start At Rs 37.49 lakhs

Skoda, a Czech carmaker, marks the re-entry of its flagship SUV - Kodiaq. However, it's limited to only 1000-1200 units, which shall be delivered in the first quarter 0f 2023. Launched way back in the month of January 2022, the flagship SUV was sold out for 2022 in just a few days after commencing the bookings. That's a clear indication of the popularity of the Kodiaq SUV. Today, Skoda India has reopened the bookings for the Kodiaq with the revised pricing.

Skoda Kodiaq is being brought to India via CKD (Completely Knocked Down ) route and is being locally assembled at the brand's Aurangabad plant in Maharashtra. The Kodiaq comes in three variants- Style, Sportline, and Laurin & Klement (L&K). The prices are now revised, and every variant gets Rs 2.5 lakhs more expensive than the previous model. The Style variant now costs Rs.37.49 lakhs (ex-showroom ), whereas its top-end L&K goes up to Rs 39.99 lakhs( ex-showroom). Skoda Kodiaq's mid-variant- Sportline comes at Rs 38.49 lakhs. One can book the Kodiaq with a token amount of Rs 50000 only. Skoda Kodiaq comes with a petrol-engine-only option. It gets a 2.0-litre turbo- petrol, 4-cylinder engine that produces 190hp and 320Nm of torque. The engine comes mated with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG) with AWD  transmission. The Kodiaq weighs roughly around 1800kgs and is capable of going 0-100km/hr in a fraction of 7.8 seconds. It now gets Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC) which enables the choice of 6 driving modes, thus enhancing overall driving comfort according to the terrains on offr.

There won't be any significant design changes. It will still feature Skoda's Hexagonal grille with Crystalline LEDs with illuminated eyelashes on the front. On the back, there will be dynamic turn indicators with a new spoiler design optimizing large SUV's aerodynamics. The SportLine trim comes equipped with all-black Suedia interiors, more side bolstering, integrated headrests, and expanded shoulder support sport seats for enthusiastic cornering. The top-of-line L&K variant features beige leather perforated upholstery and 12-way adjustable electric seats with in-built cooling and heating function. The Style and L&K trim are equipped with a two-spoke steering wheel, ambient lighting, and a state-of-the-art Canton 625 W 12-speaker audio system with a sub-woofer.

The Skoda Kodiaq has an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen with inbuilt navigation and full connectivity via the My Skoda Connect App. The Style variant comes with four analogue dials and digital readouts displaying essential information to the driver. The SportLine and L&K trims come with a fully programmable Virtual Cockpit with digital dials and a digital console that complements the 10.25-inch media interface with five themes to suit the driver's needs.

The Skoda Kodiaq, being only in petrol guise, goes up against the recently launched Hyundai Tucson and VW Tiguan . On the other hand, it will also go up against diesel-powered Citroen C5 Aircross and Jeep Meridian. To read our first-drive review of Skoda Kodiaq, please click here.
