Rynox Air GT SP Gloves Review

I might fool myself into believing that I am a traveller, someone struck with the modern disease called wanderlust but the blatant truth in my face is, I am just an urban warrior most of the days. When you have to commute 100kms in a day, you cannot do it the way which would rob you off the fun that you could have and make the mundane life… a bit fast-paced? This is why I am always on a lookout for good urban riding gears because I honestly cannot have it the other way now. When my Raida CruisePro II gloves started showing signs of wear, Rynox was kind enough to send the Air GT our way. I had already used a couple of their urban gloves earlier and I was confident enough in the Air GT that they would not only be comfortable but would have no compromise on safety either. So far, this is how they are turning out to be.

The gloves not only look premium but feel that way as well. These are CE certified units and safety is one of the things which I really like about this pair. For instance, it gets TPU protectors with foam on the knuckle and HD foam inserts on the fingertips and joints. The Air GT also comes with Rynox’s Flexprotect scaphoid bone protector which deserves a thumbs up. For abrasion resistance, these are made from perforated soft full-grain leather with leather panels at abrasion zones.Thankfully, I haven’t had the chance to sample them in a crash but during regular use, these feel solid. Another highlight for me is the way how comfy they feel during commutes and even during weekend trips. The Air GT has a cuff length that is more suitable for urban fit, hence rendering them useless for racetrack excursions. (But for that, Rynox has also sent us a freshly baked pair of Advento Pro - their latest and flagship gauntlet gloves!) Over the course of two months, I have used them as a daily pair and for a couple of weekend road trips as well. Not on one occasion did I feel that they’re uncomfortable. Even the ventilation is decent for our conditions. Since these are particularly designed for the urban warriors out there, Rynox has also laced them with touch-screen-friendly tips on index fingers.

So far, for the price that they command, the Air GT has proven to be a worthy pair of gloves. They don’t compromise on safety while also being comfortable in the process. The only thing left for us to see is how they fare over a prolonged period of time because lately, the build quality of Rynox products has gone down a little. I have utmost faith in the brand that they must have found their way back to delivering quality riding gears at affordable prices. The Air GT should be a testament to that.
