India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India, is all set to launch its third-gen Ertiga with an updated mechanical and cosmetics tweaks. Ertiga has always been the highest-selling MPV in the Indian market because of its value for money proposition. And now, the brand wishes to strengthen its market position by giving a mid-cycle update to the Ertiga. The next-gen Ertiga will get a new K-series 1.5-litre, DualJet, Dual VVT, four-cylinder petrol engine with Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology. The engine will now come mated with a 6-speed automatic transmission, ditching out a 4-speed automatic gearbox in the outgoing model. Moreover, the automatic variant will come equipped with paddle shifters to keep your driving engaging. Not just the petrol engine, the brand will also bring a factory-fitted CNG option which will be only available with the top-spec ZXI variant.
Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, in its latest avatar, will be a lot of design and cosmetic tweaks, including an LED headlamp 3D finish grille on the front. It is also expected to get a refreshed bumper and a new set of alloy wheels. Whereas, on the inside, the Ertiga will come with a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen infotainment system with the 'Suzuki Connect' connected car tech. "We are confident that the Next-Gen Ertiga will further delight customers, offering them a more fuel-efficient, powerful, technologically advanced and stylish companion for long journeys together with their loved ones." says Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The Pre-booking for the model has already begun at the price of just Rs 11000, which can be booked via Maruti Suzuki's official website or by visiting the nearest Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership. Once launched, it will go up against the recently launched Kia Carens and Mahindra Marazzo.
