TVS Motor Company has started the 2024 electric two-wheeler racing season. This is the first race of this kind, making TVS the first Indian manufacturer to enter the world of electric motor racing. The bikes being used in this championship are the electric TVS Apache RTE race motorcycles that they have developed solely for the championship.
Features of The Bikes
The bikes used come with many features that make them the perfect fit for racing. These include the highest power-to-weight ratio in its class, high power cells battery pack, and carbon fibre battery case that also acts as a stressed member of the chassis. Further, they use a custom-built advanced Battery Management System (BMS) that uses unique algorithms for advanced configuration controls and better safety. The carbon fibre fairing in these has the lowest drag coefficient in its class. The suspension in the front and rear are the Ohlins bespoke. Brembo supplies a brake system with a 320 mm front disc, callipers and a master cylinder. The tyres used are Pirelli Super Corsa tyres. On the looks front, they get body paint of the TVS Racing Factory colours.

Highlights of the First Round of TVS e-OMC
TVS runs the Electric OMC as part of India's TVS One Make Championship (OMC). This competition occurs on the sidelines of the prestigious Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC). In the first round, eight riders raced for four laps. 8 racers were selected to race on the motorcycles for the season. The best top speed achieved was 200 kmph. The best lap timing recorded in this race was 1 min 48.777 sec. In the first round of INMRC 2024, Sarthak Chavan took the podium's top step, with Chirant V at second and Alwin Sundar completing the podium places.
