Third Round of FMSCI 2W Rally Sprint Championship To Be Held in Pune Tomorrow

Pune will be the host of the third leg of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship 2024 for two-wheelers. The race will be held in the grounds that surround Nanoli Speedway, with 95 riders battling it out for a win. This round will be the qualifier for the last round in December. The city follows the rounds held in Chennai and Bangalore. There are a total of 13 races in the championship.

The Participants

There are multiple riders of the West Zone in the race. These include Badal Doshi from Mumbai, Amarendra Sathe from Pune, Pinkesh Thakkar from Pune, and Rajesh N Swami from Raigad. 

A key rider to look out for will be Suhail Ahmad. He has dominated multiple categories, with victories in Group A up to 550cc, Bullet Class up to 550cc, and Open Class up to 550cc in the Chennai leg and finished second in the Open Class up to 550cc and Bullet Class up to 550cc in the Bangalore leg.  At tomorrow's race, he said "Pune is a city which boasts a rich culture of dirt biking and off-roading; I am looking forward to some fierce competition from the riders in the West Zone. I am sure I will enjoy competing against some of the prominent riders at this circuit in one of the most beautiful settings for rallying in the country. With the final round a couple of months away, the pressure is on to better your timing and make sure you are in the best form,"

The Following Races

Post the race held in Pune, the series will have more races all across the nation. The 4th round is set to be held in Indore on 05 October 2024, with the 5th round being in Guwahati on 24 November 2024. The finals of the series will be held in either Pune or Bangalore on 14-15 December 2024. The competitors of each zone will battle it out then for the ultimate title.

Gautam Shantappa, Vice President of FMSCI, said, "It's fantastic to see such strong participation in the third round. With over 95 entries, the competition will be fierce and I am happy to see top riders from the nation ready to set the trail ablaze in the FMSCI Indian National Rally Sprint Championship 2024, in Pune. I am sure the riders are raring to go. We are happy to see more riders step up to take part, it is a great sign for a growing sport."
