Ogier Returns to WRC in Latvia After Recovering from Pre-Poland Crash

Rally fans rejoice! Eight-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Ogier is set to make his return to the championship in Latvia after being declared fit to compete. Ogier and co-driver Vincent Landais were involved in a reconnaissance crash prior to Rally Poland, forcing their withdrawal. Thankfully, both escaped serious injury.

Ogier has since undergone medical checks and is eager to get back behind the wheel.  "It was quite unfortunate what happened," said Ogier. "After some rest and with the help of my medical team, I've recovered quickly and I'm excited to be back in Latvia. The challenge of a new rally is exciting, which is why we added this event to our program."

Ogier's return bolsters Toyota's lineup for the WRC's first visit to Latvia. They will field a four-car team including full-time drivers Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta, alongside championship contender Kalle Rovanpera. The competition will be fierce with Hyundai's championship leader Thierry Neuville, Ott Tanak, and Esapekka Lappi joining the fray. M-Sport will also be present with Adrien Fourmaux, Gregoire Munster, and Latvian hopeful Martins Sesks competing in Ford Pumas.
