India Marks Itself Into Formula-E Official Calendar

The race calendar revealed in June missed India on the list, however locations for race 4, race 5 and race 13 yet were not out. It was speculated that India might not host the Hyderabad E-Prix in 2024, but we were certain it might work out, and we would see our street clelebrating spirit of racing. Alberto Longo, co-founder of Formula E - gave a sign of hope that in October, there would be a final call on the confirmation. And as his hope suggested, it's now official that Hyderabad will be hosting race 4 of the 10th season on February 10, 2024.

"Without a doubt, our Season 10 calendar is the most compelling yet for drivers, teams, fans and viewers around the world. We are honoured to return to India thanks to the support of the Telangana Government and Minister K. T. Rama Rao." said Alberto Longo, co-founder of Formula E.

In 2024, we will see our Indian boy, Jehan Daruvala, race in Formula E  with the Maserati MSG Racing team, alongside Max Guenther. The  24-year-old racer was a reserve driver for Mahindra last season. Our Indian brand, Mahindra Racing, struggled with the new Gen3 car and ultimately finished in 10th place this year. Maserati, on the other hand, did undergo its fair share of challenges this year. Seeing him competing in the FIA World Championship race would boost the morale of the sports supporters and the championship.

This year, while hosting our first E-Prix, we had  fair share of problems in terms of logistics, crowd management and planning in general. Nevertheless, we had a pretty decent number of viewers of around 31000, thus adding around $84 million to the city’s economy. To learn more about the street racing circuit, please click here
