Hot Wheels Partners with Formula 1

For motorsport enthusiasts and Hot Wheels fans alike, there's exciting news on the horizon. Behind the beloved Hot Wheels brand, Mattel has entered a historic partnership with Formula 1. This collaboration marks the first time Hot Wheels has teamed up with the motorsport giant, promising a range of cars and toys that will delight collectors and racing fans alike. This partnership brings the rush of Formula 1 races to life on a 1:64 scale.

The announcement has sparked enthusiasm across the motorsport and toy communities. Hot Wheels, known for its die-cast cars, is preparing to release a series of miniature models based on Formula 1 teams. Fans can look forward to seeing their favourite F1 cars in Hot Wheels form, from Red Bull to Mercedes. Roberto Stanichi, Executive Vice President of Hot Wheels and Head of Vehicles and Building Sets at Mattel expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating that it is a natural fit for both brands. He emphasized that Hot Wheels has consistently fostered the "challenger spirit," this collaboration will unite two of the largest global fan communities in a shared passion for cars and racing.

A Collector's Dream: The First Exclusive Release

To celebrate the launch of this partnership, Hot Wheels is releasing a special, one-of-a-kind die-cast car. This collector's item will feature a unique Hot Wheels racing livery with several special features that set it apart from the regular Hot Wheels offerings. The model will have Real Rider wheels with interchangeable tyres and a full-metal body and chassis for an authentic feel. The all-new Formula 1 casting showcases the number 68 on the nose of the car, a nod to the year Hot Wheels debuted in 1968.

This exclusive die-cast model is inspired by the iconic "Original 16" Hot Wheels designs and comes housed in a collector's clamshell case, known as the 'Kar Keepers.' This adds to the car's aesthetic and makes it an even more attractive addition for collectors and F1 fans. The attention to detail in the design makes this release a must-have for both seasoned Hot Wheels enthusiasts and newcomers to the brand.

More to Come: A Multi-Year Collaboration

The initial launch of the collector's model is just the beginning. Mattel has revealed that this partnership will extend well into the future, with new products set to be introduced over the next few years. The multi-year collaboration will continue to expand throughout the 2025 season and beyond, bringing more F1-themed Hot Wheels cars to fans.

Future die-cast models will represent various Formula 1 teams, including iconic names such as Red Bull Racing, Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, and many others. These models will appeal to hardcore collectors and younger fans discovering the excitement of Hot Wheels and Formula 1 for the first time.

Expanding Fan Bases

Hot Wheels and Formula 1 hope to benefit from this partnership by reaching new audiences. While Hot Wheels already enjoys a solid following among collectors and toy enthusiasts, Formula 1 has grown its global fanbase recently, especially among younger audiences. This collaboration allows both brands to tap into each other's fan bases and attract new followers passionate about cars and racing.

By merging the worlds of toy cars and elite motorsport, Hot Wheels and Formula 1 will create a unique experience that appeals to fans of all ages.
