Well, essentially, C40 Recharge is the coupe version of the XC40 Recharge, which debuted in India last year.
Apart from its rear end and stylish coupe roofline, everything seems identical to XC40 Recharge. The rear looks quite trendy with a fashionable-shaped taillamp. Adding more favour to the rear looks are the two spoilers on each end of the rear windscreen. From the front, it looks similar to the XC40 Recharge, and even on the sides, you will notice the same 19-inch alloy wheels. It has two storage options- the first is the large 431-l boot space at the rear and the 31-l space in front, also called frunk.
The prominent talking point of C40 Recharge is its interiors , which are made up of 100% leather-free materials, thus setting a new norm for sustainable luxury. The cabin layout is similar to that of XC40 Recharge. C40 Recharge gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a portrait-style 9-inch touchscreen with Android OS and in-built Google Maps and Google Assistant. It comes equipped with all the features like a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, dual-zone climate control, a 13-speaker Harman Kardon music system with a 600W digital amplifier and much more. Safety has also been the trademark for Volvo, and the brand continues to maintain its legacy by providing ADAS features which result in adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, a blind spot monitoring system, and a parking assistant.
C40 Recharge gets the same powertrain setup as that of XC40 Recharge. It has a 78kW battery pack with a WLTP range of 530km. It has a dual-motor setup produces 408 hp of power and 660Nm of torque, capable of propelling the car from 0-100kmph in just 4.7 seconds.
Volvo seems to be ambitious in the Indian market as Mr. Jyoti Malhotra, Managing Director of Volvo Car India, says, " The reveal of the Volvo C40 Recharge marks a significant milestone for Volvo Car India's commitment to the Indian market. Building on to the success of XC40 Recharge, I am sure C40 Recharge would help us widen our luxury market share.
