Volkswagen Tiguan Passes Euro NCAP Crash Tests with 5-Star Score!

The Volkswagen Tiguan has scored a 5-star rating in the European NCAP crash tests. This generation of the Tiguan is soon to enter India after it was revealed in the international markets last year. These results testify to Volkswagen's claims of making safer cars for India and international markets. Here are the details that have come out.

New Tiguan 5-Star Results

The Tiguan gained an 83 percent rating (33.5 points) in adult occupant protection and an 88 per cent (43.2 points) score for child occupants. For vulnerable road users, the number stands at 84 percent (53.5 points). For the safety assist features, it scored 78 percent (14.2 points). These results are especially impressive as the revised tests enforced last year were more strict than the previous ones.

Tiguan Safety Features

The international variant of the Tiguan comes with electronic safety aids and a suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Its safety features include Driver Attention Monitor and Driver Alert System, Airbags for driver and front passenger, centre airbag and curtain & side airbags in front & rear, Autonomous Emergency Braking Front Assist, Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring, Lane Assist, Lane change system Side Assist, Rear Traffic Alert, Front Cross Traffic Assist, Oncoming vehicle braking when turning and swerve support, Exit warning system, Park Distance Control, Rear view camera system, Dynamic Road Sign Display, Car2X warning system, Hill Start Assist, Child presence detection system, Emergency Call Service. It also uses an exit warning system that alerts the occupants of any vehicle approaching from behind while opening the door.

New Tiguan India Launch

The New Tiguan, expected to launch in India later this year or early next year, will offer competitive pricing starting at 34 Lakhs (Ex-showroom). This puts it in direct competition with heavyweights like the Toyota Fortuner, Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Kodiaq, and Jeep Compass. The Tiguan's combination of safety and affordability makes it an attractive choice for potential car buyers.
