Tata Motors' Acti.ev Architecture Revealed | To Debut On Punch EV

Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors Limited, has introduced its first advanced EV architecture, named acti.ev , which stands for (Advanced, Connected, Technology, Intelligent, Electric Vehicle ). This platform will underpin upcoming EVs based on Punch, Harrier, Sierra and Curvv and can spawn various products with multiple body styles and sizes. This platform is different from Premium Pure EV architecture, shared with JLR, known as the EMA (Electrified Modular Platform)

The acti.ev platform is based on the four pillars of  performance, technology, modularity, and space efficiency . The battery unit would offer multiple range options from 300 km to 600 km, depending upon the battery capacity. There would be different types of drive powertrain, from AWD, RWD, and FWD. This platform could support DC Fast Charging upto 150kW.

Safety would be considered of utmost priority, meeting with GNCAP / BNCAP safety protocols. The platform has been engineered to support various body styles while optimizing the cabin space and storage. The flat floor design without a transmission tunnel creates room for a frunk, providing an efficient solution for storing additional cargo and enhancing the passenger's comfort.

The platform will come up with ADAS level 2 capabilities, and also also support Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle Charging (V2V) technology. It will have 5G connectivity, and will have advanced over-the-air updates for software and other features.
