Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 | CS Santosh Tames The Bike To Its Off-road Limits

The advent of adventure bikes is rising at a rapid phase. RE has been working on its adventure bike for so long. The Himalayan 450 has taken the spotlight as the video of  India's Dakar Rally legend - CS Santhosh, putting the motorcycle through its paces at the BigRock Dirtpack near Banglore goes viral. The official information and photos are yet to be out, but as far as the video goes, the design language is quite evident.

The RE Himalayan looks like a more butch and evolved version of the already existing Himalayan. It gets a large headlamp setup and a big fuel tank. The bike would feature Up-Side Down forks. The suspension travel will also be enhanced to make it more off-road friendly. The bike would get bigger discs to improve stopping power. On the features front, it would get a fully digital instrument cluster that will likely come up with Bluetooth connectivity.

The engine on the RE Himalayan 450 would be an all-new 450cc that would churn out around 36 hp of power and 40Nm of peak torque. The engine gets liquid-cooling, and it will come mated with a 6-speed gearbox with Slip & Assist clutch.

The bike is expected to launch soon and would give a tough fight to the recently launched KTM adventure lineup and BMW G310 GS. Expect the price to be somewhere around the three lakhs mark.
