River is Now ‘Official EV Partner’ of Bengaluru Football Club

EV Maker River has collaborated with the Bengaluru Football Club (BFC) as their ‘Official EV Partner’. The partnership will aim to drive awareness of environmentally friendly modes of transport through the association.

River intends to dive into the community of the various football fans in Bengaluru. It will be hosting many promotional activities at Kanteerava Stadium that will give an immersive consumer experience to the viewers. These will be focused on the love for the game. These promotional campaigns will have River’s electric two-wheeler Indie, which they call the SUV of scooters, on the centre stage during the 2024 Indian Super League season.

River CEO’s Remarks

Aravind Mani, Co-Founder and CEO of River said, “As a brand born in Bengaluru, partnering with BFC feels like a natural fit. Many of our team members are football enthusiasts who admire and follow Bengaluru FC. At River, we hope to inspire people to push boundaries and strive for success. We’re excited to start this partnership and go for greatness together!”

What BFC Director Said

Darren Caldeira, BFC’s director, said, “Our efforts to be a club that focuses on environment-friendly resources and sustainability have seen us take several different measures over the years, and the partnership with River is a big step in that direction. Reducing emissions is the need of the hour, and River is leading the charge in the Mobility sector. We’re looking forward to all that this association holds.”

River’s Product

River currently sells one model, the River Indie. It is a utility-focused e-scooter with a rugged design, long feature list, and high load capacity. It is powered by a 4 kWh lithium-ion battery that charges in 5 hours and offers a range of up to 120 km on a single charge. The scooter is equipped with a mid-drive motor that generates 9 bhp and 26 Nm torque. This motor enables it to have a top speed of 90 km/h while also accelerating 0-40 kmph in 3.7 seconds. Its design elements include dual front forks and wide tyres. One standout feature of the EV is the 43-litre under-seat storage, which, combined with its two glove compartments, makes it very practical for riders. On the features front, the Indie gets an LCD that is integrated with a mobile app, two USB ports, a side stand cut-off, and a limited-speed reverse parking assist. It also has 3 ride modes: Eco, River and Rush. The safety of passengers is ensured with disc brakes on both wheels and dual-channel ABS. The scooter and battery get a 5-year/50,000 km warranty.
