With the release of the new GranTurismo, Maserati announced a special edition based on the ICE-powered Trofeo variation with a restricted production of 75 units for each of the two possible trims. Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo PrimaSerie 75th Anniversary Launch Edition is the model's lengthy name, which pretty well explains what it is.
To commemorate 75 years of Maserati grand tourers, the first edition, or PrimaSerie in Italian, was produced. Only available in two colour combinations, the special edition has distinctive highlights and unique finishing touches inside the opulent 2+2 cabin.
The exterior colour of the first choice is Grigio Lamiera Matte with Corse Red highlights on the emblems, side gills, and all around the black-finished alloy wheels that include the 75th-anniversary insignia on the centre caps. If you prefer something more sombre, use Mint Green accents with the color-changing Nero Scarabeo Matte hue. The sharper bodykit and quad exhaust tailpipes of the Trofeo are included into both variants, which feature carbon fibre accents on the intakes, lip spoiler, and diffuser.
Corse Red or Mint Green stitching and accents complement the exterior, while the inside has a mix of Black and Ice leather upholstery. The four headrests have the 75th anniversary emblem, which is completed in the same shade as the GranTurismo symbol on the dashboard. The 12.2-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, second 8.8-inch touchscreen for temperature control, digital clock, and Sonus Faber audio system are among the ample features of the special edition, as is to be expected.
The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno engine, which produces 550 horsepower (410 kW / 557 PS) and 650 Nm (479.4 lb-ft) of torque, has not undergone any mechanical alterations since the GranTurismo Trofeo. An 8-speed automatic transmission transfers power to the rear axle, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 3.5 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h (0 to 124 mph) in 11.4 seconds, and a peak speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).
The price of the 150 GranTurismo Trofeo PrimaSerie units has not yet been disclosed by Maserati, but we are confident that it will be higher than the price of the ordinary Trofeo, which in Italy starts at €226,200 ($246,492). The GranTurismo Folgore, which is also the model with the highest power, will eventually be offered in entirely electric form.
