Kia Seltos Facelift Is Coming To India Sooner Than You Think

Initially launched in 2019, the Kia Seltos has been a super-hit car in its segment ever since. But it has been due for a facelift and will get one soon. The updated Kia Seltos has already been launched in Kia’s overseas markets and is expected to reach Indian shores by mid-2023. It has been spotted testing in Hyderabad.

The facelifted Kia Seltos will sport a new 160Hp and 253Nm, 1.5L turbo-petrol powertrain to replace the current 1.4L turbo-petrol that produces 140Hp and 242Nm. The Seltos is also expected to come with the existing 115hp and 144Nm 1.5L petrol engine and the 115hp and 250Nm 1.5L turbo-diesel engine.

The facelift brings a redesigned front grille, new alloy wheels and DRLs for the front and side profiles. However, the design alterations are more obvious from the back. The updated taillamps on the Seltos facelift are now connected by an LED light bar that also houses the Kia insignia; previously, the taillamps were connected by a chrome strip. Additionally, the number plate indentation on the tailgate has been enlarged.

The updated Seltos will also have surround view monitor, automatic high beams, and remote smart parking assist among many other features. Other safety features include, six airbags, hill assist control, vehicle stability management, parking sensors as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system. In addition, a panoramic sunroof, which is currently present on the model abroad, is anticipated for the facelifted Seltos. The Seltos gets ADAS features in markets abroad but it remains to be seen if they’ll make it to Indian showroom floors.

The interior sees only minor design adjustments. The 10.25-inch touchscreen is housed in the same enclosure as a new 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. And a rotary dial has replaced the traditional gear lever on the facelifted Seltos.
