Jaguar has removed the I-Pace from its website, which could indicate a possible discontinuation. The F-Type is also absent from the website, which seemed imminent as Jaguar recently rolled out its final model. Jaguar is now a one-model company in India, that too an SUV, the F-Pace. Jaguar plans on launching more electric cars ahead, though.
About the I-Pace
The I-Pace was an important car for Jaguar as it was their first EV to reach the Indian shore. Jaguar launched it in 2021 with a price tag of 1.26 Crore, locking horns with the German Mercedes EQC and Audi e-tron. The performance of the I-Pace was up to par with its two electric motors, producing a power output of 394 bhp and 696 Nm of torque. These motors got their power from a 90 kWh lithium-ion battery pack that gave it a claimed range of 470 km. The home charging through an 11 kW AC charger took 12.9 hours to fully juice up the battery, while you could quickly charge it from 0-80% in 45 minutes with a 100 kW DC charger. Where it lagged was the space and comfort compared to the other SUVs in the market. Sales were meagre, with Jaguar managing to sell only 31 models of the I-Pace in FY2024. For reference, the market leader IX sold 738 units at the same time.
The Only Jaguar in India
