The W16 Mistral from Bugatti is a vehicle that aims to merge tradition with cutting-edge technology. Its design pays respect to vintage Bugattis while also pushing the envelope of contemporary aesthetics and engineering. As part of its most recent world tour stop, Bugatti took the Mistral to Tokyo, Japan, a city that is renowned for being at the nexus of history and modernity.
The automobile eventually arrived in Asia after stopping across North America, Europe, and the Middle East. The Kanda Myojin Shrine, one of Tokyo's oldest temples, Oishi Park, a park with a view of Mount Fuji, and Gora Kadan, a former retreat of the Japanese Imperial Family, were among the places seen during this portion of the tour's visit to Japan.
The W16 Mistral is a car of superlatives. There is no doubt that it is unique given its $5 million price tag and limited 99-unit manufacturing run, and it is also propelled by a similarly exotic motor. Like all previous Bugattis evolved from the Chiron, it is propelled by a quad-turbo W16 engine as its name indicates. However, what its moniker conceals is the fact that it will be the final W16-powered Bugatti to be produced. A huge 1,578 horsepower (1,600 PS / 1,177 kW) and 1,180 lb-ft (1,600 Nm) of torque are still produced by the engine, propelling the Mistral to a high speed of 261 mph (420 km/h). And since it's a roadster, you can do that while enjoying the wind in your hair. A good way to conclude the W16.
“Tokyo and Japan have always been a natural home for Bugatti,” said Kostas Psarris, Regional Director Middle East & Asia at Bugatti, regarding the milestone. “Ours is a brand that is guided by our traditions but always driven by the very latest advancements in technology, engineering and design. The W16 Mistral is an ideal showcase of our values, evolving from a long lineage of beautiful Bugatti roadsters, but forever pushing forward with incomparable levels of performance and luxury. It’s a great honor to explore the sights of Japan and share our latest creation with the international clientele of Bugatti Tokyo, many of whom are among the most passionate Bugatti collectors in the world. In fact, the number of Bugatti hyper sports cars delivered in Japan is one of the highest for Bugatti worldwide.”
