Nissan has revealed the X-trail in India before the expected launch in a few days. The X-trail will mark a new era in Nissan’s business in India, with them planning more models ahead. In the event we got to witness the new X-trail, we were also informed of the various plans that NIssan has for the Indian market. Here is all you need to know about the Japanese company’s plans:
1) X-Trail First in CBU Business
Nissan will be the first model in India to start the Completely Built Up CBU business. This means the model will be wholly assembled in India and then exported to different countries as a finished product.
The X-Trail, which was sold during its first and second generations, is set to return with its fourth generation. This model, available internationally since 2021, has been seen testing on Indian roads several times. It will be launched in India as a model built exclusively with the Indian market in mind based on the demand and customer feedback it has received.
2) Magnite Facelift Soon
The Magnite has been the single available product in the Nissan portfolio for a while now. It has crossed the 30,000 sales mark every year for the past three years, and it crossed the 1 lakh domestic milestone in April. Nissan revealed that they will be facelifting the Magnite in India soon. This facelift is expected to make it more competitive in the highly contested compact SUV segment.
3) More SUVs to Come
Nissan Revealed that it plans to launch more SUVs in India after the X-trail. These will be of the C-SUV and C-SUV+ type. Considering the increasing demand of SUVs in India, these might help the resurgence of the Japanese brand in India. Nissan also signalled that it is working on an affordable EV option for India.
4) Magnite Exports to Grow
Nissan has been exporting Magnite from India since June 2021. Currently, it is being exported to 15 countries, with 30,000+ units already exported. Nissan plans to grow this number to 40 in the coming time. These will include 25 countries where the Magnite will be exported in the Left-Hand Drive version.
5) Nissan Export Strategy
Nissan plans a Make in India, Make for the World initiative for their cars being produced in India. It has set a goal to export 100,000 models from India to the global markets by the financial year 2026.
