Cadillac's electric lineup is evolving rapidly, and the entry-level Optiq is the latest addition.
The Optiq is a small crossover that is meant to fit under the Lyriq and has "spirited driving dynamics" along with international appeal. Currently, the corporation is keeping quiet about the model; maybe next year, they will reveal more.
Having said that, the crossover has vertical headlamps on either side of a tiny, totally enclosed grille. Lower air intakes and gloss black cladding connect them.
Further, we can see blacked-out A-pillars flowing into a black roof, continuing the two-tone style. Matching mirrors and a blacked-out back pillar with a ribbed design connect them.
The crossover's designers added flush-mounted door handles and 21-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV tires. A charging station with an outstretched Cadillac crest is also visible on the front fender.
In contrast, the rear end is somewhat simple, but it features split taillights similar to those on the Escalade IQ. A sharp rear window and a highly styled liftgate unite them.
Despite Cadillac's deceptive actions, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in China has already disclosed several facts regarding the impending electric crossover. Specifically, the Optiq is expected to be 189.8 inches (4,821 mm) long with a wheelbase of 116.3 inches (2,954 mm) wide. This indicates that the model's dimensions are similar to those of the XT5, but its wheelbase is 3.8 inches (97 mm) longer.
The Chinese Optiq is expected to include an electric motor with outputs of 201 horsepower (150 kW / 204 PS) and 241 horsepower (180 kW / 245 PS), in addition to being large for a "compact SUV." A dual-motor all-wheel drive version will also be available; this version is expected to produce 283 horsepower (211 kW / 287 PS) in total.
