The Mercedes-Benz GLA series has been revised for the 2024 model year six and a half months after the flagship GLA 45 S 4Matic+. Although the revisions are not substantial, they bring some much-needed new features and enhance the attractiveness of the powerful crossover.
The changes begin up front, where the 2024 GLA 45 S 4Matic+, like the basic model, now features a new front with a revised grille and redesigned air intakes. New light signatures have been added to the LED headlights, and if buyers so want, a pair of Multibeam LED headlights are an option. On the hood, an AMG crest has also been installed.
The fact that the wheel arch extensions are no longer covered in black but are now completed in the same color as the body is one of the more subtle but noteworthy alterations. Standard 19-inch alloys, red brake calipers, and new LED taillights complete the outward upgrades. Additionally, customers have a choice of two 20-inch wheels, each with a dual five-spoke design. There is also a pair of 21-inch shoes available.
The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder in the crossover hasn't undergone any alterations, not that it need any improvements. Thus, in European specifications, the four-cylinder engine is still capable of producing 416 horsepower at 6,750 rpm and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque between 5,000 and 5,250 rpm. Since the United States is now without the flagship GLA 45 S and forced to make due with the'standard' GLA 45, it is yet unknown if the new model will be marketed there.
The crossover completes the sprint to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.3 seconds and continues to accelerate until it hits 168 mph (270 km/h). The engine is coupled to an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox with two multi-plate clutches, each of which is attached to a drive shaft on the back axle. This variable power distribution between the front and rear axles as well as the left and right rear wheels is made possible by this transmission.
The automaker's most recent AMG Performance steering wheel and an updated MBUX infotainment system with an AMG-specific screen design that allows wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto can be found in the cabin of the 2024 model. Customers may also request the interior in a mix of Microcut microfiber, which is currently available in Bahia Brown and Artico faux leather in Sage Grey/Black. Additionally, Red Pepper/Black is now an option for the leather seat coverings from Mercedes-AMG.
Prices for the 2024 GLA 45 S 4Matic+ have not yet been disclosed by Mercedes-AMG.
