Toyota has launched the all-new Toyota Hilux in India at ₹31.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2026 Toyota Hilux gets completely redesigned front and rear design, new dashboard layout. However the 9th gen Hilux is based on the same platform as the older Toyota Hilux and it is powered by the same 2.8-litre diesel engine. Pricing for the Toyota Hilux starts at ₹31.99 lakh for the GX trim and goes up to ₹36.69 lakh for the top of the line VX trim. Design
The 2026 Toyota Hilux gets completely redesigned styling on the outside. It gets very sharp and angular design elements, which give it even better road presence than the older Hilux. Toyota calls this the “cyber sumo” design language. At the front it gets sleek LED headlights with LED DRL’s and a low placed fog lamp. It gets a honeycomb grill with bold ‘Toyota’ lettering instead of a conventional Toyota logo, which gives it a more rugged look. In the profile it gets very angular cladding. The Toyota Hilux rides on 17-inch newly designed alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tyres. At the rear the 9th gen Toyota Hilux gets vertically stacked LED taillights with C shaped elements. It gets a redesigned bumper and a footstep to easily access the cargo bed. The 2026 Toyota Hilux is offered in six colours: Sulphur Metallic, Platinum Pearl White Metallic, Attitude Black, Ash, Emotional Red and Super White.
Engine and Gearbox
Things remain the same in the Engine and Gearbox department. The Toyota Hilux is powered by the same 2.8-litre Diesel engine which produces 201bhp and 500Nm of torque which can be paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels. The all-new Toyota Hilux also gets a 80-litre fuel tank.
Interior and Features
On the inside the Toyota Hilux gets a completely redesigned dashboard. The cabin gets a mixture of soft touch and hard plastic materials on the inside which give the interior a rugged yet premium feel. It also gets physical buttons for the ac, display and terrain modes controls. The Toyota Hilux gets a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless apple carplay and android auto. Other features include cruise control, wireless charger, PM 2.5 filter and a 8-speaker audio system. The India spec Toyota Hilux misses out on ADAS but it gets safety features like 7-SRS airbags, ABS, VSC, TPMS, 360 degree camera and three drive modes: Eco, Normal and Sport.
Pricing and Rivals
Pricing for the Toyota Hilux starts at ₹31.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base GX 2x2 variant, the 4x4 GX variant has been priced at ₹33.69 lakh (ex-showroom) and the top of the line VX 4x4 variant has been priced at ₹36.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The Toyota Hilux will compete with the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
