The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is the 3rd fastest car on the Nurburgring Nordschleife, ever!

Yes, you read that right. A stripped out version of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is now the third-fastest car around the Green Hell, having absolutely obliterated its own previous lap record with a blistering lap time of 6m 22.091s — a full 22 seconds quicker than before. That makes it quicker than any ICE-powered car around the perilous circuit. What’s more fascinating is the fact that only two other vehicles have lapped the track quicker: the Volkswagen ID.R and the Le Mans winning Porsche 919 Hybrid EVO. Absolutely nuts. Following this feat, the brand has also acquired the naming rights for Turn 12 at the Nürburgring, which will now be known as the “Xiaomi Curve.”

The SU7 Ultra prototype boasts 1528bhp from its tri-motor setup, and can hit 100kmph from a standstill in a blisteringly quick 1.98 seconds. It has a 349kmph top speed. For the record, it was but a stripped-out, had a full roll cage and was running on racing slick tyres for utmost grip.

While the ordinary Joe won’t be able to get his hands on the one-off special which set the record, Xiaomi has launched the sportier ‘SU7 Ultra Nurburgring Limited Track Edition’ which is lighter, more aerodynamic and limited to just 100 units. That car features a whole host of carbon fibre goodies: a dual-channel carbon hood, aerodynamic underbody panels that add up to 45kg of downforce alone, a fixed carbon rear wing, racing-grade carbon bucket seats, a six-point harness, and a steel half-roll cage. Apart from these mods, it also gets adjustable Bilstein EVO R coilovers, and semi-slick Pirelli Trofeo RS tyres. Prices for the limited edition model start at 814,900 Yuan (Rs 97.2 lakh, without Indian taxes and duties).

Xiaomi has also announced a special “Track Professional Package” for buyers of the standard SU7 which brings in many of the components from the Nurburgring Limited Track Edition, without going all-out.

Xiaomi’s blistering Nürburgring run and the launch of the SU7 Ultra Nürburgring Edition mark a defining moment in the brand’s evolution. No longer just a tech company, it’s proving it can go toe-to-toe with the world’s elite performance marques—on and off the track. The battle for the fastest EV is officially on. Porsche, the gauntlet has been thrown—are you ready to answer?
