MINI has opened pre-launch bookings at Rs 1.5 lakh for the Cooper S GP Inspired Edition in India, with deliveries scheduled to begin in May 2026. It is not a new-generation car or a mechanical overhaul, but a limited-run model that leans heavily on exclusivity and design.
What makes it stand out is the numbers. Just 30 units will be offered, which places it firmly in collector territory rather than mainstream appeal. MINI has built this version on the Cooper S with the JCW Pack, so the core remains familiar, but the presentation gets a sharper edge.
The visual changes do most of the talking. Finished in a unique Legend Grey shade, the GP Inspired Edition adds JCW-themed styling elements that give it a more purposeful look. It does not try too hard, which works in its favour, and keeps the character of the standard car intact while adding a bit more presence.
MINI positions this edition as a nod to its racing background. In practice, that translates into a cosmetic upgrade for buyers who want something less common without stepping into a full-blown performance variant.
Bookings are open at MINI dealerships across India, with the brand currently operating 12 sales touchpoints in 9 cities.
In essence, this is a small batch car that banks on its rarity and styling rather than outright changes underneath. For the right buyer, that might be reason enough.
