MG Motor India Unveils the M9 MPV at Auto Expo 2025

At the ongoing Auto Expo 2025, MG Motor India has officially showcased its latest offering, the M9 MPV. This marks a significant step for the automaker as the M9 joins the Cyberster sportscar in MG’s newly introduced ‘Select’ premium retail network. The M9 is expected to be launched commercially in March 2025, with a price tag of approximately INR 65 lakh. While pre-bookings have already commenced, MG has stated that official bookings will open in March, with deliveries set to begin in April.

What Is It?

The MG M9, also known as the Mifa 9 in international markets, is a large electric MPV that first appeared in India during the 2023 Auto Expo. This is the second time the model has been showcased in the country, and MG is keen to gauge consumer interest ahead of its commercial release.

The M9 features a front-motor, front-wheel-drive setup powered by a 90kWh lithium-ion battery. The electric motor generates 245 bhp and 350 Newton-metres Nm of torque. The MPV claimed that the WLTP range of 430 km provides ample range for long-distance travel.

Dimensions and Design

In terms of size, the MG M9 is a substantial vehicle, measuring 5.2 metres in length, 2 metres in width, and 1.8 metres in height. To put it into perspective, it is larger than the Kia Carnival and the Toyota Vellfire, two of the more prominent MPVs in India. The M9’s design resembles an MPV, with a boxy, slab-sided body and an upright nose. The vehicle’s large glass house emphasizes its size, while the bold front and rear lighting signatures make it visually striking. Additionally, chrome around the vehicle adds a touch of premium flair.

Interior and Features

Inside, the MG M9 offers an impressive array of features designed for comfort and convenience. The MPV has 7- and 8-seater layouts to cater to varying customer needs. The interior is spacious, with premium touches that include two sunroofs—one single-pane for the front and a larger dual-pane unit for the rear.

The M9’s front and rear seats are powered and have heating, ventilation, and massage functions. For added luxury, the vehicle also features fold-out ottoman seats. Rear passengers benefit from powered sliding doors and dedicated entertainment screens, enhancing the overall experience.

Advanced Safety and Assistance

Regarding safety, the MG M9 offers Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System), which includes a suite of features designed to improve driver and passenger safety.
