Mahindra XUV 3XO EV launched at Rs 13.89 lakh

Mahindra has expanded its electric portfolio at the smaller end with the launch of the XUV 3XO EV. Priced from ₹13.89 lakh ex-showroom, it becomes the most compact EV in Mahindra’s current line-up and slots in below the XUV400. Deliveries are scheduled to begin on February 23.

Variants and pricing

The XUV 3XO EV is offered in two trims.

AX5 at ₹13.89 lakh
AX7L at ₹14.96 lakh

Prices are ex-showroom and exclude the charger.

Familiar, with EV cues

Design-wise, the 3XO EV stays close to its petrol sibling. The front gets a body-coloured closed-off grille, hexagonal headlamp housings with C-shaped DRLs and a sculpted bumper with a faux skid plate. EV-specific copper-finished badges subtly mark it out from the ICE version.

Along the sides, the flat bonnet and muscular fender creases remain, while 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels add a bit of presence. At the rear, a connected LED light bar flows into C-shaped tail-lamps, paired with a layered bumper and prominent silver skid plate detailing.

Clean and functional

Inside, the cabin leans towards a premium look with black upholstery, soft-touch materials and copper accents dotted around. The dashboard features a free-standing touchscreen, while the centre console uses gloss-black trim.

Refreshingly, Mahindra has retained physical knobs and switches for climate control, avoiding the all-touch approach that has become common elsewhere.

No holding back

The XUV 3XO EV comes well-equipped. Highlights include a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a matching 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control and a seven-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos. Convenience features include keyless entry and automatic headlamps.

On the safety front, Mahindra has packed in a Level 2 ADAS suite, six airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, electronic stability control and tyre pressure monitoring.

Powertrain and range

Power comes from a 39.4kWh battery pack driving a single electric motor producing 150bhp and 310Nm. Mahindra claims a real-world range of up to 285km, placing it competitively within its segment.

Rivals and positioning

The XUV 3XO EV will take on rivals such as the Tata Punch EV, Tata Nexon EV, MG Windsor EV and the Citroen eC3.
