Mahindra Reveals Price for its Flagship EV, the XEV 9e

Mahindra unveiled the price of their top-of-the-line XEV 9e Pack Three. While the base variant - Pack One - has a price tag of 21.90 lakh, the 79kWh Pack Three costs Rs 30.50 lakh. Like BE 6, the mid-spec variant price has yet to be unveiled. The booking for Pack Three will begin on February 14, and deliveries are slated for early March.

Variants

The Mahindra XEV 9e will be available in two battery options, 59 kWh and 79 kWh, both being rare wheel drive. The 59 kWh unit is paired with a 227 bhp motor, and the 79 kWh unit delivers 282 bhp, offering a claimed range of 656 km for the larger battery pack variant.

Features

The Mahindra XEV 9e comes packed with features: three dashboard displays, including a dedicated screen for the co-driver, augmented reality heads-up display, 16 Harman Kardon speakers for immersive audio, an infinity sunroof with an ambient lighting system, class-leading safety featuring seven airbags, Level 2+ ADAS with five radars and twelve ultrasonic sensors, 360-degree cameras, seat with memory function, 5G connectivity with built-in Wi-Fi, OTA updates and an auto park feature.

Competition

The Mahindra XEV 9e is priced lower than the BYD Atto 3, with savings of ₹3.09 lakh on the base variant and ₹3.49 lakh on the top model, priced at ₹24.99 lakh and ₹33.99 lakh, respectively. However, the Atto 3’s base price is introductory and expected to rise.

While the XEV 9e offers competitive pricing, it will face stiff competition from the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, which is expected to be more attractively priced and could pose a serious challenge in the electric SUV market.

Conclusion

The Mahindra XEV 9e's futuristic design and advanced features stand out. It combines cutting-edge technology with practicality, making it a strong contender in the electric SUV market. With multiple variants and flexible pricing, the XEV 9e will be able to cater to a wide range of buyers, positioning itself as an appealing choice for those seeking sustainability without compromising style or performance.
